As summer rolls on, we’re still juggling heatwaves. school holidays, weekends away, garden parties and BBQs. With all that is going on, it’s hardly surprising that cleaning has slipped down the priority list.
But August isn’t the month to ignore it altogether. Although in the warm weather we might not feel like cleaning, it can quickly build up and result in pollen-covered surfaces, leave clothes and fabrics smelling sweaty and musty, and create the perfect conditions for unpleasant odours and even unwanted summer pests. A little maintenance now can save you a much bigger job later on.
You don’t need to spend hours scrubbing the house or working up a sweat to stay on top of it. Just a little everyday will help with the key cleaning jobs that are worth tackling this August, which all take 15 minutes or less but make a noticeable difference to how your home looks, feels and smells.
Below I have listed a few 15-minute jobs that are quick and easy but can be easily achieved and bring that sense of fulfilment.
- Clean your doormat in and out.
- Empty and clean the inside of your bathroom bin.
- Give your headboard and wipe down and vac.
- Give your gardening gloves a little TLC. Wash them or treat yourself to a new pair.
- Give the boot of your car a good vac and freshen up.
Why not have a go at some of these little jobs and see how you go. Once you start you won’t want to stop
