This month we are looking at how to keep on top of tidying a room in just a few simple steps.

To keep a room clean and tidy, establish a daily routine of decluttering, dust and wipe surfaces, and put things away. A weekly deep clean including vacuuming, washing sheets, and cleaning mirrors will maintain overall cleanliness. Five minutes each day or if you are feeling more motivated try for 15 or 30 minutes set yourself a timer and see what you can do. With a pass of a brush or duster will stop dust and debris from accumulating. Wipe down smudges and fingerprints on windows, mirrors, doorknobs, and high-touch surfaces

Daily Habits:

  • Declutter regularly: Spend a few minutes each day picking up items and throwing away things you no longer need.
  • Dust and wipe: Use a duster or cloth to remove dust from surfaces like tables, shelves, and light fixtures.
  • Put things away: When finished with an item, put it back in its designated place.
  • Spot clean spills: Clean up spills quickly to prevent stains.
  • Make your bed: This simple act can instantly make a room look tidier.
  • Empty trash: Remove trash regularly to prevent odours and pests.

Weekly Deep Cleaning:

  • Vacuum or sweep: Remove dust and debris from floors.
  • Wipe surfaces: Use a cleaning solution and a cloth to wipe down counters, sinks, and other surfaces.
  • Wash and change sheets: Regularly wash and change bedding to maintain hygiene.
  • Clean windows and mirrors: Wipe down windows and mirrors to remove smudges.
  • Dust furniture and fixtures: Use a duster to remove dust from furniture, curtains, light fixtures, and ceiling fans.

Why not give it a go and see if it helps you to keep on top of those tiresome house jobs and become more organised within your home.
